GUIDELINES FOR WRITING A GREAT STORY!
Many of you have been asking us to give you some guidelines about writing stories for MixaKids. The long awaited list is here. It is not a long one, but we shall be improving it as we go on.
In order to write a story that will be chosen among many others, you need to think outside the box. Is it interesting? Is it fun? Will people be interested in reading it? What makes your story unique?
Requirements for a MixaKids story
First you must ensure that you put your full name, school and class. This will help us to find you in when we are handing over your book to you after it's published.
- Original (not copied from another book/movie/T.V program etc)
- Should have an introduction, body and conclusion
- Minimum number of words; For ages of 7 to 10 -500 words
- For ages 10 and above -700 words and above
- No violence/profanities allowed
- No pornographic/ mature content
- Should promote values e.g. health, love, forgiveness, culture, discipline, unity etc
- Should be informative
- Consider the five W's in your story that is Who, What, When, Where and Why.
